“In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.”

Dear Brothers and sisters,

Assalam O Alaikum,

As you are aware, there has been a change in Muhammadi Welfare Association Inc. (MWA) executive committee (EC). Your new EC was elected unopposed following recent electoral process. I have taken the responsibility to serve the community as a President. I feel honoured and humbled to get a chance to serve the followers of our Imams (a.s.).

This is my first correspondence to you after assuming the duties as a president. I aim to introduce myself, my team and our vision for the next two years.

The names of your new EC is as below

President: Syed Haider Abbas Naqvi

Secretary: Syed Tanvir Hassan

Treasurer: Syed Shabih Jafar

1-    Mir Ammad Hussain

2-    Syed Intizar Hassan Jaffery

3-    Syed Najeeb ul Hassan

4-    Tanweer Badami

Regarding the new team most of the people are well known to you and have been serving the community in their individual capacity for long. I believe we have got a right balance of experience and energy in this team who is ready to progress the community forward.

We wish to pay our gratitude to Almighty Allah to give us an opportunity to serve this prestigious organisation.

We aim to keep MWA community’s interest and needs at the forefront of every decision we make. We will endeavour to bring unity and harmony among members. I have already started talking to community elders and other members of this association to garner their support and learn from their experiences to deliver a bright future for our community. I want to take this opportunity and thank community elders for their years and years of utmost efforts, time and energies that we have inherited such a strong institution in the form of MWA. I would request your ongoing participation and support. Your new EC needs you. We will respect and honour your ideas.

Now I like to share my team’s vision about some key focus areas.

Kemps Creek Project: Our first and foremost task is to complete Kemps Creek Centre at the earliest possible. We appreciate your past and ongoing financial support for the project. Previous EC has worked very hard to complete the project and deliver it to the community in its best form. We acknowledge their efforts. Unfortunately, due to financial restraints, there has been a delay in completing the project. Your new EC is committed to working with you to complete the project as early as possible. We will regularly update you to keep you informed of the construction progress. We thank you for your patience and urge you to continue your support. Insha’Allah Sadqa-e-Masoomeen (a.s) we will soon be holding our programs at our new centre.

Regular programs: I feel proud to be a part of an association who has arranged regular programs to commemorate births and martyrdoms of the Masoomeen (a.s.). Our resident alim Maulana Shoaib Naqvi Sahib has given countless lectures to educate us about the life and teachings of our Imams (a.s.). I want to take this opportunity and thank Maulana Sb on his efforts. We will InshaAllah continue to benefit from his knowledge in the years to come.

During this era of digital media, it is essential to distinguish right from wrong. We need supervision of ulemas and scholars to impart true knowledge of Ahlul Bait (a.s.) to help us follow the right path. To fulfil our quest of knowledge and learning, we will InshaAllah regularly invite guest speakers to enlighten us with the teachings of the Masoomeen (a.s.). It is our duty as a mo’min to ensure that only correct knowledge is imparted from our institutions.

Female educational support: InshaAllah with your help we will arrange refresher courses/classes for our women. We will try to cater for not only their religious needs and the quest for knowledge but also support them in the day to day problems. Book clubs, discussion forums and workshops will be arranged to assist women to follow teachings of Lady Fatima (a. s) and Lady Zainab (a. s). We appreciate the efforts of our women who are volunteers of Imambargah, teachers of MWA madrassa and most importantly, mothers preparing and nurturing the next generation of followers of Syed us Shuhada (a.s).

Youth activities: Our youth is our future. We must benefit from their creative minds and energies and give them every possible opportunity to serve Ahlul Bait (a.s.). Unfortunately, understanding of Urdu Majlis is not easy for most of our young generation. English speeches will be arranged regularly. We are honoured that Maulana Sayed Ahmed Al-Qazwini will be reciting 10 Majalis in English during Arbaeen. We have also confirmed Maulana Syed Ali Raza Jan Kazmi to deliver his lecture on coming Saturday (please follow MWA calendar for details). Also, regular activities will be arranged to connect our youths to the centre. If you are a young member of the community, we would love to hear from you, your talents and ideas. Your potentials and services to serve followers of Ahlul Bait (a.s) are a need of present time.

I hope I along with my EC members will continue to get your support. Your comments and suggestions are valuable to us as they give us the opportunity to improve our work. We are here to serve and will be looking forward working in any area where we see there is a need.

Please feel free to contact any member of the EC in person or via email.

May Allah hasten the Zahoor of our Imam (a.s) and help us to follow the teachings of Ahul ul Bait.

Iltamas e Dua
